Continental’s ClimateSecure service offers unit load devices with temperature control as a superior alternative to traditional cooling means such as foam, gel packs or insulating blankets, which add expense to shipments and waste space. Both sealable and lockable, these high-tech containers employ dry ice blocks concealed in separate bunkers, thermostats and fans to keep temperatures constant. This advanced technology offers customers – particularly those who ship valuable and sensitive goods including pharmaceuticals, electronics, cosmetics and fine art and perishables such as fresh food, dairy products and flowers – a true unbroken, door-to-door cool chain for as long as 72 hours, and longer when dry ice and batteries are replenished in transit.

Shipping with ClimateSecure Service

ClimateSecure Service boasts the handling, boarding priority and flight-specific guarantees of either QUICKPAK or Confirmed Must Ride. In Continental stations, ClimateSecure Service gets even higher priority treatment, with special service teams handling these important shipments. To use ClimateSecure Service, allow 24 hours in most markets, and expect a four-hour tender time and a three-hour recovery time. With ClimateSecure Service, all standard Continental Airlines Cargo services such as Web tracking are available.
